Our St Maarten horseback tour is ideal for beginners to intermediate riders. The horses are well trained, well groomed, quiet, and capable. The trails consist of beach and hillside riding with some great views along the way.

Situated at a newly established nature park, access is through an industrial area, but don not be put off!. Once inside the park you will be met by the friendly owners of the stables, and see their very well cared for horses and reception area. Toilets, changing facilities, and a bar and grill area are all on site for your use.

The food is excellent by the way, and prices are very reasonable, so a good option for lunch, either before or after your ride. Miss Lolo, the grandmother of the owners will rustle up lunch under the tropical tiki hut, with some island specialties and beers or sodas for $2.

Your friendly local guide will saddle you up (western saddles only), and you will head down to the beach with a maximum of just six other riders and the guide. Heading along the beach of Cay Bay, you will then start to climb a track towards Cay Bay hill and eventually to the top with views of Little Bay and the cruise ships docked in the far distance in Great Bay.

You then descend down where the trail continues along the beach, and the rises steeply up the mountain. Hang on tight, because the next part of the ride is steep and mountainous. You will take a narrow trail through the gorse and local cactus, with butterflies and iguanas all around. However the horses are well used to the route and extremely sure footed.

Eventually you will peak at a beautiful look out point 400ft above the ocean, with views of Simpson bay Lagoon and the islands of St Barths and Anguilla in the distance. It is then a steep descent back down to the nature park reception area, and you can then ride your horses into the ocean to cool off and swim with them, before finishing your horseback trail ride.
